Default 2000 PDS slows down

Have a 2000 PDS Ez Go. Batteries are 2 years old. But we know how that goes..Just wanted to run this by you all. Cart starts out fine but after about 20 mins it begins to run real slow. Let is sit for a bit and get back on to drive and it will run again. Discharged batteries at 54mins. Check with load tester and volts go to 5.9. These are 6 volts batteries. Normally we would say batteries right away. Here is my question. When a diagnostic test is performed per the techician manual, we only get 1 beep. No second set of beeps or anything. Whats a thought?

one beep = no chip = 13 mph
two beeps = steep hill chip = 13 mph
three beeps = mild hill chip = 16 mph
four beeps = freedom chip = 18 mph
Your batteries might be going bad? How old are they? How often do you charge? how low do you let the batteries get before a recharge? do you fill with distilled water? Did you break in the batteries properly?

or are you saying that is what the 1 beep means and we should still assume the batteries?

The info you gave is extremely helpful. We believe it is the batteries because there are no other faults codes. You know how it goes when someone says they took care of the batteries. But evidence suggests otherwise.thank you bunches

1 beep means there is no problem and you have 13 mph top speed. If you want faster get this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EZ-GO-FREEDO...item27c02198e0
It'll cost you $4 and takes 10 minutes to install. It will give you 18-19 mph top speed.

One beep means no chip is in the cart = all terrain or golf mode.
If you opt for 'faster' chips be prepared for less torque and more strain on your already failing batteries.

Faster chips do not reduce torque, the freedom has the exact same torque and acceleration as all-terrain, the limiter is just raised from 13 to 18.
