Default Some pics of my rat mobile!

I just got a new camera and I am playing around with it! It's a Nikon Coolpix S3100. So here's some attempts at photography!!! The cart needs a lot of TLC, which it will get over time. I've at least got it totally useable and dependable again! Some body work and wiring tidy up and 48V for the future! I really like the cart so I want to get it fixed up!

I'll get a lot better pics of it when I take it outside. It was raining on and off so I just took a couple of " test " shots!

Here's some more with the entire cart this time. It was cloudy and getting dark for these.

Ok, that's all for now! I'll put up some more when there's progress being made on it.

I see lots o room for lots o batteries. Maybe a 480 volt conversion? You should really get at least 72 with all that room. Can't wait to see once your finished with it. So what are your plans?

Actually all that room is quite useful. I thought about putting batteries in there, but we'll see how that goes. I'm considering just putting it back to 48V, as it originally was. The motor and solenoid are both 48V, so I'm just basically looking at batteries, cables, and a controller. It actually runs well on 36V! I don't go to far on it, but it does get a lot of stop and start and slow operation. The main thing I noticed when it was running on 48V was the torque! That's just not there on 36V. It will all just take time. I'm on social security, so I can't dump a bunch of money into this at once. I'll start with Scotty's cable kit, ( I'll have to work something out with him, as my leads to the F - R switch are quite long ) I don't even know yet if he'll do custom length cables. That will be the first thing! There's no point to power up if the power can't get to where it's needed! I'm debating on having my Curtis 1205 controller rebuilt and changed to 48V, or buy a new one. That's all down the road for now, though. At least I have time to sort this out, and my cart's useable until I can do these things!

Oh my Gosh! That thing is a week long! You should run it on 48v because it was made to haul stuff around on...and you'll need the torque once you get to using it. I do make custom kits we just need a measure ment from the motor to the F&R.... what's that? 35'

Actually Scotty, the wheelbase is 80" and the total length is 11' 9"! I'll get a hold of you when I'm ready to do this. Yeah, people freak out when I tell them it's an 80" wheelbase! You have to be conscious of over centering it when driving in the woods. I'm sure these carts were made for warehouses with flat floors. It hardly ever sees a flat surface anymore!

You were real close on that Scott! I made some rough measurements and it is 34' if you're considering the total length of the 4 cables to the F - R !
