Default Alarm

How do I either disable or muffle the backup alarm (horn) for a 2011 RXV. Where is it located I can seem to isolate the location.

Thanks

I don't know about an RXV, but on the TXT it is behind the dash and you can access it by removing the cupholder and I would assume an RXV is no different. You can muffle it by filling it with something, or you can unplug one of the connectors, but I have heard that it will not run if it is disconnected.

I got to mine when I pulled the key panal. just wrap some electric tape around it and its nice and quiet then. still gives you error codes as well.

The speaker is located under the seat on the passenger side on the underside of the black plastic covering for the electronics. You must remove the 2 reusable plastic tabs, lift the cover and the speaker is the small round black unit with a circular opening. I took a foam ear plug and fit it in the opening. The alarm can still be heard (safety) but is greatly reduced in volume.
