stereo amp mounting ideas
Im looking for ideas for mounting a 400 watt amp for my stereo on my 96 ezgo. I thought about mounting underneath my back seat up side down. would this be a problem ? Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: stereo amp mounting ideas
That's exactly where I will (one day) mount my amp. Only problem I would see is keeping it dry. An automotive amp should be able to withstand the heat and cold inside a car trunk, as well as shocks from hitting potholes.

Depending on your setup, you could always install it in the empty spot below the drivers seat, next to the batteries.

Post a pic of said amp. I have seen 400w amps super small and some 20" long.

Re: stereo amp mounting ideas

Re: stereo amp mounting ideas
I mounted mine in the front of the controller. I have a PDS though with no F/R stuff in the way. It's a old 200 watt amp I had for years and it does great. I just tie wrapped it off to the cart supports.

nice andy ! i wish i had that much room on my 96. So does the amp draw a lot off of your aux battery?

Re: stereo amp mounting ideas
You could use marine stuff and not worry to much about it.

Re: stereo amp mounting ideas
Not enough to worry about. I played the radio all day long but I also have a solar panel mounted on the roof. During the day it runs off it. 5 watt panel. It keeps the battery @13 volts.

Re: stereo amp mounting ideas
We don't even use marine stuff on the boat any more. They don't last much (if any) longer & the selection is way less. I like the idea of mounting it in the bagwell, under the seat, maybe protected with some kind of surround.... but then you might have heat issues.
What about doing an overhead console & having the amp & deck in that? I just have a 25 watt deck in mine & call it good. |
