Re: 6.07v at ea batt./charger wont start??
Lets start with the simple stuff. You have AC power?
When you plug the cart into the charger do you hear the click? Make sure the plug into the cart is tight and not sloppy. Make sure the cables are all connected as they should be. If you plug it in hold up on the handle and see if it kicks on. Over time the connectors get worn. I have had to replace a bunch of them. Try cleaning them also first. If you look at the connection on the cart the little red wire is oK? |

Not sure if this would effect your charger, but is your key in the OFF position, some of the chargers will not work if the key is in the ON.
Just a thought. E. Sven |

(Actually it is a window from about 28 volts to about 46 volts so you don't blow up 24V battery packs with the charger, or blow up the charger with a 48V battery pack - ) You should hear the relay click when you plug the charger plug into the cart's receptacle whether the charger is plugged into AC power or not. Here's a manual on the PowerWise and PowerWise+. You might have a PowerWise II or QE (There are a bunch of models), but they are all about the same electrically except for the QE junk, which are throwaways. The battery is sensed through the cable via the smaller of the three wires and the Aux. Contact in the Plug. The Aux. Contact touches the outside of the Negative charger terminal in the Cart's charger Receptacle. The Charger senses battery B+ at the diode heatsink inside the charger. If the battery sense circuit is good, the control board is bad. FWIW: The red wire in the cart's receptacle keeps the cart from being driven away while charger is connected - The infamous Reed Switch. Last edited by JohnnieB; 12-12-2011 at 12:34 PM.. Re: 6.07v at ea batt./charger wont start??
If it's a power wise charger look at this and it may help you also.
Take the cover off and jumper the 2 black wires running to the black cube. Then plug the charger back into the cart and see if it works. If so the board is bad, well the relay is and needs to be replaced. The board is replaced most times because you have to unsorder the cube to put the new one in. Don't leave it like this are it will burn the batteries up. It's Ok to use it like this you just have to watch it it want shut off it will just keep on charging until you unplug it. |
