Default Cart won't run more than 15 feet

I have an electric ez go with the diagnostic system. When the system is activated I get 3 beeps only. When the accelerator is first depressed the cart will go about 15 feet either forward or reverse, wherever it is set. After that it won't move forward or in reverse. What's my problem???

Question Re: Cart won't run more than 15 feet

Not sure about just 3 beeps.
I would check the magnet and speed senor. If the magnet has broken away from the motor shaft it will cause it to act like this sometimes.

welcome to BWG.

If the 3 equally spaced beeps occur when you put the PDS cart in its diagnostic mode, it means a "Mild Hill" chips is installed.

Do any further Beeps occur?

What is the battery pack voltage, and what is it when the cart stops?

After the cart stops, can you hear solenoid click when pedal is pushed?

No further beeps occur. Don't have any way of testing batt pac voltage, but it should be good. After the cart stops, on further attempts to get it to go forward or reverse it moves slightly, but then stops. Don't have the cart here right now to check things, it's at another location. Thanks, Phil

I have learned to never assume anything! The battery pack voltage can be tested, both open circuit and under load, with a $10 DMM. Radio Shack has a decent one for the money! A bad battery will exhibit the exact symptoms you are having.
You really need both a DMM and a specific gravity tester to get anywhere with an electric cart!
