Default 6v battery health

I have 8 used batteries 6v for a total 48v. I can see white on most plates. What do you think about the health?

A white battery plate is the antithesis of a white wedding gown.

How were these batteries charged, all on the same 48V charger, in pairs on a 12V charger or some other method?
How long between being taken off charge and Pre-Test voltage reading? (6 hour or more needed to deplete surface charge)
How many Amps was the load? (100A? 75A? Less?)
How much time between load removal and Post-Test voltage reading? (10-15 Minutes Battery Recovery Time needed)

I believe it is time to break out the Hydrometer and measure the Specific Gravity of each cell.
Any battery whose SG varies more than 0.030 between cells after battery has been charged and recharged repeatedly until SG no longer rises each hour, is a candidate for the recycling plant.

Based on Pre and Post voltages in the surface charge range on B-7, I'm not as optimistic as Spawn.
My guess is that 1, 6 and 8 are toast. B-7 might be okay and the rest are on their way.

OF course, giving the batteries sufficient rest time after full charge to deplete surface charge, load them with 75A or 100A and letting them recover before taking Post readings might paint a different picture. As would measuring SG.
