A 92 ezgo uses a 0-5k potentiometer for throttle input. An ITS controller uses an inductive throttle sensor for throttle input.

You need one that looks like this.

ezgo speed controller

That throttle sensor alone might cost around $70 if you can find one. Then you would have to do some fab work and additional parts. If you get stuck with that controller and its cheap enough you could re-sell it and use the money towards the right one.

The ITS is under the floorboard...a PB-6 throttle pot is right by your controller....follow the rod from under the cart to the little box and thats your throttle pot.

i dont mind doing some fab work, jbweld wire splitters and some duct tape all put in very neatly should do the job :) hasnt failed me yet,,,,, well actually once when i tried metal epoxy on an split exhaust system, i guess is should have read the temperature rating, and known how hot an exhaust really can get in az (wink) but if i cant use the controller im sure i could sell it or trade it or something? :) or use it with a solar panel in a quite unconventional way :)

is it cheaper to buy a set of battery cables or make them myself?

I think you are far better off getting the right controller. You may be able to find the right one even cheaper. As far as cables.....how bad are the ones you have. Some prefer to build there own, some just buy....I guess it all depends on your resources.

It depends on your resourcefullness. I build all of my cables. I buy 4 gauge in bulk rolls so its cheaper for me to build them. I use soldered connections and shrink tubing. You can buy 4 gauge at welding supply houses but if you wanna build them as cheap as possible 6 gauge ill "get you by". I'm not sure you can get 6 gauge cable at welding supplies, I have never bought any. 4 gauge will help pull those hills better.

Can you post pictures of your battery area/speed control area?
