Default 36volt ez-go wiring help\ trouble shooting.

I am almost finished rebuilding an 87 36volt 3wheeled golf cart. My dad supposedly had the motor checked out before he bought it and that checked out okay. When we purchased the golf cart it had no batteries in it. The previous owner took them out to put in his other golf cart. I installed the new batteries in it last night and used the wiring diagrams on the forum to make sure all the battery wires were in the correct location. When I went to test it I get nothing but the beep or buzz when the drive select lever is put into reverse but you push the pedal and get nothing. The solenoid looks new but was wondering if the accelerator switch can go bad? Has anyone ever run into this or happen to have any ideas on how to fix it?

Also with wiring in 12volt accessories is all I have to do is take the positive from two batteries and tie them together? I asked shops about a voltage reducer and they all said they just hook to batteries together to run the accessories and have done it that way for years with out problems. Is this correct?

The micro switch at the accelerator can go bad. You can take 12v off of any two 6v in series. Recommend using 1 pos and 1 neg. Use a voltmeter to trace out the power supply problem. See if the solenoid is getting juice to activate when you press the gas. If not? Is there power to the micro when u turn the key on?

Reading your first post again. Wanted to clarify that there are two ways to hook batteries together. One way is in 'parallel and the other is in series' In Parallel you connect pos to pos and neg to neg resulting in double the amps and no voltage change. In series you connect pos to neg and neg to pos resulting in the voltages of the batteries being addedtogether as well as the amps. Thus two 6 volt batteries can be used to produce 12 volts for lights etc. And six 6v batteries in series will produce 36 volts...
