I have a 97' ez go I'm working on, I'm painting the body, lifting, big tires etc. I'm wondering if anyone has ever painted the factory roof. It looks as if paint would not stick very well but I'm not up on all the paints that are available maybe there are other options. thanks for any input

Those roofs can be painted, but it takes lots of prep, and even then they seem to scratch easily. If you will be trail riding I wouldn't recommend it.

I've painted two factory tops on Yamaha's with Fusion rattle can paint. Holds up better than regular spray paint but will chip if it hits limbs. Good thing about it, you can touch it up fairly easy.

I would go to an Auto Parts store that sells paint and tell them you want to paint plastic and that you need the paint with the additive or...... you want the additive that goes in paint for painting plastic. they will have one or the other. They also sell the aresol paint canisters to pour your paint into and spray it on with pressure.

i just had a friend paint my cart and he said the tops were tough to paint but used an
epoxy primer and said it would hold up pretty good. We'll see what happens. Looks good though |

It bonds to plactic and will not come off .Walmart sells a paint for plastic and so does Lowes .I first used the color coat on a car i had and it worked great .

If the crack is not to big you can use JB weld and sand it an than paint . I had a 6" crack on my Rv and use JB Weld .That was 3 years ago and it still is just fine .
