Default Battery Acid buildup

I have relatively new trojan batteries , 8volts. they seem to build up acid on connections easy and look "wet" all the time. I clean them off tighten connections, check water level and spray the cleaner and battery preserver on them frequently. Am I doing something wrong? or is this something even to be worried about? no performance or charging issues yet...

Your water levels may be too high. You only need enough water to cover the plates by 1/4 inch.

I fill mine only to the bottom of the indicator ( the green tube in scotty's diagram ). Fill only after charging! Also is this on all your batteries, or just one? One bad battery can cause to high a charging rate. This will cause excess electrolyte vapor to condense on the outside of the batteries. Worst case is an overfill which allows the electrolyte to be pushed out of the vents, and over time the acid becomes diluted.

no not all batteries just the front 3. I think the levels are good. all voltage readings are very close to the same.

My calibrated Mark-II eyeballs don't work too well in sun light or shade peering into batteries, so I got one of these and haven't had any wet topped batteries since.
