Control board arcing on '87
Are you supposed to use some type of grease or conductive compound on the control board contacts?

Re: Control board arcing on '87
I have heard of covering these boards in grease to eliminate the arching while switching from button to button.......

Make sure you can hear the solenoid and that it's not stuck.

Solenoid is fine, it doesn't arc at "idle", just when switching speeds. I've put some conductive grease/antioxident compound normally used for aluminum wire on it. We'll see how it goes.
