Alltrax DCX400 PDS upgrade results
Information for those looking to upgrade there controller.
I installed the DCX400 PDS and solenoid to replace the stock Curtis controller and solenoid. I upgraded all the cables to #4 cable. Still running the stock motor with 22" tires. I was running the "freedom chip" in the stock controller. I gained about 4-5 mph on the top end. Max speed of 27 mph down a grade. I did not notice much of a torque increase on the hills. Maybe 10% better. I do find myself driving more in half throttle than I did before to achieve the desire speed. I plan on looking at the contoller programming in the near future. Install time was about 2 hours with making my own cables. I cut 4'' off the bottom of the controller box to mount it on top of the new controller. The run tow switch reamins in the same location. Hope this helps. |

Re: Alltrax DCX400 PDS upgrade results
If your running 27 down hill you gained about 9-10 MPH. Was it just the factory program? You can up the amps to make it climb better but I bet if you put it up a steep hill it goes a lot better than stock.
Congratulations on the new equipment. |
