Default Marathon Meltdown

I have a 92 Marathon that the wire from the F/R switch to the controller actually completely melted down at the F/R switch to the point where it welded the terminal to the switch. I recently replaced the F/R switch and get the solenoid "click" but its a no go, I am assuming now that the controller is shot. Has anyone ever seen this with a controller before? will the controller do this if you are putting a lot of load on the cart?

The cart's electronic components need to be upgraded if the loads are significantly increased. The load increase causes the motor to draw more amperage, this increased draw will produce heat if the pathways for the current are not sufficient. Simple physics. Parts that need upgrading:
Controller
Solenoid
Cables
F&R

Have you tried jumping the large lugs on the solenoid? Do that and see if the cart moves. Just because it clicks, does not mean the solenoid is good.
Also did you replace the cable that burned, or just put a new connector on the old one?

No I have not tried jumping it but I will,Yes I replaced the wire with a new one, and triple checked all connections.Scotty the only electrical upgrade the cart has had is the 4 gauge wire set, it has a lift and 20" tires that did fine on level ground but then I decided to take it to a friends farm and I was pulling some pretty steep grades with it offroad that i am sure were putting a severe load on the cart.
