Where would I ground it to then? a negative wire? Would this cause the fuze to blow? lastly, is there a way to tell, I now get not even the clicking sound from the flasher.

You must ground back to a negative 12v reference on the battery pack. If you don't know how to do this, stop now, or you will burn more fuses...

Yes Negative for your ground........ and if in doubt,...... get a volt meter and measure for 12 to 14 volts on the circuit you will be using before hooking up the wires and burning out bulbs.

Look at your lights. Are they grounded through a wire or is the housing grounded. You need to know which to run the wires correctley. The housing of each light needs a ground to it ran back to the 12 volt - terminal.
I have had to rewire complete carts because they used the hot wires for grounds instead of using a ground wire. Just because a light has two wires connected to it doesn't mean it's the right 2. You need at least 3 wires running out of each housing and know which is which.
