Any Other Options For The Awful Screeming Buzzer?
I have an '07 TXT PDS. The buzzer when you put it into reverse is ear piercing which I guess that is what it was designed for but in my quiet marina community it sucks. I don't want to disable it for various warning functions with the PDS but are there any other gentler "ding ding" options available?

Easiest way is to plug the speaker hole with a foam ear plug and a strip of duct tape. Quiets it right down, but can still be heard at close range.

I spent a little time looking for something like the ding tone used to signal an open door on a car. |

Re: Any Other Options For The Awful Screeming Buzzer?
I'm with gornoman, foam ear plug and a piece of tape. The problem with a doorbell or other type of sound device is they often are only momentary contact switches and I would suspect the same troubles for your PDS as if you disconnected it. I may be incorrect about the momentary contact thing, and I'm sure you could fix up something with a relay or solenoid to keep the circuit whole while your in reverse but really? Of course this is only an opinion from a guy reinventing the wheel..... so....
