Default Budget limited, lift and performance improvement

Not new to carting, but still much to learn.

So..., I've got a stock, sluggish, 97 EZGO, 36V TXT, and I have ~$1500 to spend on lift and performance improvements. My challenge, gentleman, is to squeeze as much as I can into the cart, but not out of the pocket.

I don't need to squeak the tires, but we have hilly terrain, so up-hill performance and cruising speed is what I'm looking for. If you are interested in helping with this challenge..., be specific with your information, part numbers and vendors.

Cool Re: Budget limited, lift and performance improvement

Trying to upload a few images of what I'm working with. The top, body and seats are removed because she's getting skinned. When I get her back together I'll upload a new look. Skin was done locally and is a custom NASCAR look.

We'll see how this upload goes....

New to posting on this site. When I figure out how to upload properly I will fix these as well.

On a side note..., I need to remove the controller and solenoid covers and post those images as well. I’m still not sure exactly what I have, which means I don’t know all what I can do with it either.

$1500 huh.....hmmm lets see.

Biggest bang for the buck is gonna be to upgrade to 48 volts. If your existing batteries are fairly new you could buy to new ones, stick them in the bagwell and you will gain an instant 20%-25% increase across the board. You will need a controller to handle the 48 volts because the stocker wont handle it. A logisystems controller is real resonable as far as price.....for charging you can eiher pick up a used 48 volt charger or charge the 2 extra batteries with an automotive 12 volt charger. You also need a 48 volt solenoid. If you shop around you could get the batteries and controller, solenoid all for around $500-$600.

OR, while you got it tore down you could sent your motor to EMP Motors and have your motor re-worked.....last I checked it was a 2 week turn-around time. Total cost should be around $300 or so. You can get a 2 speed for a little more I think....Actually, I should say 2 "modes"...one mode is for torque, the other speed. You could have the best of both worlds.

You didn't say whether you wanted to lift it or not but I'll throw one in here anyways. You can get a 5" lift real cheap. CPP has a 5" drop axle lift for $230 EZGO 5" Lift kit fits electric 1994-2000, can't go wrong with a drop axle. Call Tom at CPP and he "might" make you a deal on that lift with a tire package.

If money allows it try and get a 10" wheel. A 22" tire on an 8" wheel has alot of sidewall. 22x11x10 All Trails on Polished Aluminum for $450

Lets see how much of your money I have spent so far. LOL!

$450 for 22x11x10 All Trails on Polished Aluminum

$230 for EZGO 5" Lift kit fits electric 1994-2000

+ or- $300 for an EMP Motor IMO you don't "have to" upgrade the motor if you go 48 volts.

$500-$600 for a 48 volt upgrade.

Puts you around $1500-$1600 bucks. You could go with a cheaper wheel/tire and save a couple hundred.

Rusty, The images are that size so it will not allow you to click for a larger image.....simply because a larger image doesn't exist.
