Default what is this wire for?

What is the red wire for? I was hoping just to replace the cracked and broken piece. When I disassembled it the red wire looks like it broke off.

i think it jumps over to the microswitch by the solenoid. its so you cant drive the car away with the charger plugged in.

its called the reed switch. it makes it so you cant drive your cart when the charger is plugged in. It can be bypassed tho.

does the end of that wire go to your f/r switch? if so then you will need to run it over to the first pos. on you battery. on mine I dont have that red wire from my terminal. I just have a black and a white from there to my battery pack. Then I have a wire from my f/r switch to my first positive on the pack. hope this helps

Maybe these old eyes are deceiving me, but that broken receptacle with two horizontal slots looks a bit strange. This is an EZGO cart isn't it?
