Re: 24V Golf Cart
Yes, slow and unable to climb a hill or go very far but it will work Do you have any 24v chargers. Floor scrubbers used them. My friend used 2 on his 48v cart for about a years time.

Re: 24V Golf Cart
A 12V Car Charger should work. It worked for my Other 36v.
What do you Think? Matt |

Re: 24V Golf Cart
I think you are barking up the wrong tree.
Reducing the voltage to a 36v motor will reduce the torque and speed of the motor. Unless the load is reduced by the same amount, the performance will be way down. |

Re: 24V Golf Cart
Here's an Idea. What If I install all (6) 8Volt Battery's to make 48V, Then buy a Voltage reducer to reduce 48V to 36V and then charge it with the 48V Golf Cart Charger?
Do you know of any voltage reducers that will do This? Matt PS, I think I will be known as the Most Annoying person on the BGW Fourm. LOL, I'm just Desperate |

2. Without knowing the Amp-hour rating of the 8V batteries, it is impossible to estimate, but if the are similar to a T-860, my guess is no more than half an hour, or about a mile at the predicted 2 MPH. Suggest you put it together, try it and tell us what the results are. |

Re: 24V Golf Cart
That is only a 150AH battery and running at reduced voltage is going to increase current flow, just like running at a higher voltage decreases current flow.
If kicked it around a bit, but I honestly don't have the slightest idea what the run-time would be because I have no idea how much current a 36V system will draw when ran at 24V. Even if you could cut one in half and use four and a half 8V batteries for a 36V pack, the run-time would be less than 2/3 of a T-105 (225AH) because the current draw would be a higher percentage of the battery AH rating and the higher the current draw relative to the AH rating, the fewer Amp-Hours can be obtain from the battery (Peukert's law). If you had 6 of them, you could connect them in series-parallel for a 300AH 24V pack and more than double the run-time on a 150AH 24V pack, but it would still be running at 2/3 normal voltage, so the performance would be dismal. Personally, I like to find some 300-400AH 2V cells and stuff 18 of them under the seat of my cart, but I'm probably going to have to settle for about 250AH in groups of three. |
