Default Wire Question ????

After pulling batteries out to change the cables and close inspection of the
F/R switch I noticed a (orange) wire not plugged up to micro switch but rather just sitting in position like someone previously intentionly unplugged for some reason. My question is what is this (orange) wire for, supposed to be ?
should it be plugged back in or what.

I have noticed that the Reverse alarm/buzzer does not work when in Reverse.
which I don't mind at all......

Don't know what year cart you have, but plugging the orange wire in will probable give you a reverse beeper and/or a half speed reverse.

Sorry JohnnieB I forgot to mention the Important info
it is a 97 TXT Series cart. No DCS or PDS

So the beeper is the only thing it is for?? if that's the case should be OK with just leaving it unplugged then ?
Thanks, Randy

the RED wire has been cut off and just hanging loose.......as far as full speed in reverse I believe it does, I have just precently purchased this cart so haven't driven it much at all...before tear down for repainting.
