Industrial Cushman Stock chaser will not drive.
Hello all,
Figured i would post up my problems: This is an industrial cushman what they call "stock chaser" where you stand up to drive it. The guts is essentially a glorified electric golf cart. The problem is it will not drive forward or reverse and i cannot hear the solenoid kick in. We have replaced the speed controller and bench tested the solenoid which both work great. The diode accross the solenoid is good as with the resistor. This is a 24V system charged by an onboard ez go battery charger. Now key off the lights are bright, horn works, and reverse beeper turns on when put in reverse. Key on it does the same thing but the main solenoid doesnt kick in at all. When the charger is plugged in it will make the amp meter jump up to about 20 amps and stay there. I left it plugged in all night and it says 0 right now so the batteries got charged so its assumed to be working. The origional problem is i think the batteries got too low and it died charged it back up and still didnt move. It acts like theres some sort of safety circuit that thinks its plugged in all the time so you cant drive off with it plugged in. Ive read some of the other posts looking for a similar problem and i got some ideas to try... |
