Series cart is making me hate this beautiful Sunday afternoon.
It's a 48v conversion series TXT cart with an Alltrax AXE 4865 controller. The key switch will not turn the ignition on or the headlights. However, a continuity test indicated the switch is fine. Strangely enough, with the key switch off, the reverse buzzer will still go off if the cart is put in reverse. That certainly can't be good.
All fuses checked out fine. It's been a long week and I didn't get much sleep last night so let me apologize in advance if it's something very simple I'm missing. |

What year is the cart?
The reverse buzzer operation you describe is normal. Does the solenoid click when you try to go? What diagram are you using for the install? Working on these carts takes patience. |

Not sure of the year. The cart was purchased from an E-Z-GO dealer who builds their version of a "hunting cart." All the identification tags have been painted over.
Really? Even with no key in the ignition the reverse buzzer will sound if the lever is turned? Ya learn something new every day. Nothing happens. No solenoid click. No battery meter. No headlights. Nada. It has the 3-position key switch. I believe I know which two wires to jump to see if it is, in fact, the switch but just to make sure it is the I and B, right? Everything is already installed. Worked fine the past 3 months. Then just decided to quit last week. |

As far as the buzzer, Scotty is right. It's normal. Not sure why, I mean, if the cart is not on, then there's no reverse anyway.
Check to see that all of your wires are secure. |

All wires secure and all fuses fine. The Alltrax controller LED isn't lighting up. I've checked all the grounds and they seem fine. How watertight are these controllers? It hasn't been submerged but it has definitely seen some mud.

My state mandates this. I personally hate it, as I like to keep my FNR in the direction I intend to go next, meaning I liked to keep it in reverse while in my garage. I had my buzzer disconnected, but it's now a legal requirement, so I reconnected it, but with high temp. electrical tape covering the buzzer opening. Georgia apparently manufactures more buggies than anywhere else in the world, and Buggy manufacturers basically wrote the legislation. |

I'm sure it has been covered a thousand times but this cart has six 8v batteries with no voltage reducer. Would running at 16v+ eventually cause problems?

Sorry I was out ...... your cart sounds like it has a blown reed switch, Which is actually a type of fuse... Check for 48v + at the small red wire coming out of the back of the charger receptacle. If no power, re-route the red wire and connect it to the main + and re try.
