Hello, my name is Winston. I bought a 91 EZGO electric cart for my dad and he has used it for about 5 years without any trouble. Last week it stopped going totally. I have replaced the F/R switch assembly but it still will not go. The solenoid clicks when you press on the accelerator in forward or reverse but it still will not move. We checked the power all the way to the ground on the solenoid and that is where we lost power. If anyone can help me to find the problem I would appreciate it greatly. My dad had a stroke 2 years ago and depends on his cart tremendously to get around. Thanks again, Winston

Welcome to the forum Winston......................
Power goes into one side of the big terminals on the solenoid......... Does the same power come out of the other side? It sounds like a bad solenoid. Just because it clicks does not mean it is good. You can even jack the back wheels off the ground and jumper the large terminals to see if the wheels turn. Turn the key on and see if it works the accelerator. |
