DC Receptacle Flange Broken
I just noticed this yesterday on my '07 PDS. The top flange of the DC receptacle is broken off. The receptacle works fine and seems firmly attached with the lower two rivets. I checked on a new one and I can't believe what the cost is for this little piece of plastic.
So I am considering some options: 1. Just leaving it alone 2. Fiix it maybe by JB Welding it together and re-riveting or drill two holes mid way between the rivets and add two more rivets (assuming the flange is drillable without shattering the flange). 3. Fab an aluminum plate/frame to go over/under the plastic flange. I have seen one of these available but they seem over priced as well. 4. Bite the bullet and replace it. All I can find are ones with the harness which range from $144 - $261 Apparently the one for the TXT will not fit the DCS/PDS models. Any other suggestions would also be appreciated. Rick |

Re: DC Receptacle Tab Cracked
Wow! I bought an entire male& female receptacle rebuild kit for my Medalist for $35. It included the housing for the cart body. You might want to buy that kit and retrofit it to your cart & charger.

Re: DC Receptacle Flange Broken
I'd try some " Super Glue " on it! The stuff works pretty well on things like that! And it's cheap!
Mine is an SB-50, but the flange is similar. Doesn't that have a mounting bar behind it to secure it? Mine does. |

Re: DC Receptacle Flange Broken
I was able to find just the housing on Ebay for a reasonable price, but opted to go with an onboard charger instead. That's where I plug in the extension cord now.
It was a good excuse to upgrade. |

Re: DC Receptacle Flange Broken
Mine is broken too and I cant find just the plastic peice, only the entire kit with the wires. 1 of the site sponsors does have it but the year listed seems to be before mine so i'm not sure if it will work but it sure looks like it would. 8$ for it

Re: DC Receptacle Flange Broken
All of the TXT receptacles are the same regardless of whether they were for a series or dcs or pds drive system.... The housing alone was available from nivel at one time ~ not sure if it still is but that is the way to go otherwise just repair it or bite the bullet and get a new one.....

Re: DC Receptacle Flange Broken
Has anyone tried changing out the EZGO receptacle and charger plug for a cheaper gereric type polarized plug?

Re: DC Receptacle Flange Broken
You can use a dryer plug from HomeDepot (it's your cart) just remove the center pin and you have a 2 blade Crowsfoot plug much the same as the early carts.... the dryer plug is heavy enough to withstand the amperage.
I can't vouch for how it will mount or look though? |
