Default picked up a river house with a not running EZGO ST

Electric unit... I get clicks from all the solenoids and a light hum when the pedal is pressed, but no go.. Not sure of the year, as there was no paperwork to go with. I can say the unit was REALLY abused (neighbors telling stories about the previous owners kids going reverse then forward and riding wheelies thru the park!). Says it was working when last they visited in May of 2011.

Thoughts on where to start? I am BRAND NEW to golf carts and its associated engineering marvels, but have a good working knowledge of all things automotive. Its at the river, so not currently with me but any knowlegde would be greatly appreciated to get her rolling again!

Welcome !!!

We need to identify your cart so we can help you fix it.

You will want to look to see if has a toggle switch above the controller box, where the Fnr handle is etc. Any specifics will help. I know you stated that it is at the river, but lets see.

BTW, I say its a ST based on the bodywork and a few internet searches finding similar looking models. I'm assuming this would be accurate enough to guess the model. Its definately not a NEW model, I'm guessing 10-12 years old? Trying to decipher the wiring and motor type. There appears to be several different electronics types which I am not sure what the differences are (PDS, DCS, ect...) but I am trying.

Thanks in advance!

There is a toggle, though I swore it was to the right of the FNR, but I could be mistaken. And the FNR switch is a large handle that swings left to right.

The entire dash was replaced with a sheet of aluminum, so I dont have a glovebox to look into which appears to be a place of reference.

Ok so you either have a DCS model or a PDS model. If your fnr is the way you described ( fnr by your legs, not on the dash ) you will have a DCS model. On the back of the fnr handle inside the cart by the batteries is there a silver colored disk ( hockey puck) looking item?

If this is not the case then you have a PDS model which the fnr should be on the dash.

When I lifted the seat to look, I saw the bank of solenoids running along the rear with coils (I assume the resistors?) just behind the solenoids. I also pulled the motor off and looked. It has the flat coils which I assume meant something.

Well scratch my last post, your cart sounds a little older...
