Default EZGO TXT 48v on a budget

I recently purchased a new Alltrax NPX 300 amp controller for my 99 txt series cart. Since then i have joined BGW AND have read several discussions about upgrading from 36v to 48v. I am wondering if I can increase to 48v and keep my controller and stock motor for now? Could I gradually upgrade? batteries, f&r, and solenoid for now... Then another controller.... Then a new motor? I would just like to increase speed a little but mainly increase torque.

Thanks for any info

You can run the stock motor with that controller, but you need to upgrade your cables to heavy duty cables ( scottyb has great cables and is a site sponsor ) get a heavy duty f-n-r switch and a heavy duty solenoid and you will be in businesss.

Thanks sbarnes. I do have the 4g cables. If I understand you right.... All I would need to upgrade for the 48v system is to replace the f&R and solenoid. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the info. I might also check into the PQ Bandit when I start putting it all back together.
