How does a EZ Go Automatic Charger work

I have a 1982 ez go electric golf cart. I put new batteries in it today and everything is great. They told me not to overcharge the batteries. My Charger only has a dial that you turn to on or to a specific time. If i turn it to on does it run for the whole 12 hours or will it stop when the batteries are charged? It just says on the charger that when the dial reaches off the cycle has run. I dont want to ruin my batteries.

I am unfamiliar with a dial on a automatic charger, (mine had LED's) you plugged it in & turned it on. It would "sense" the charge state and gradually decrease the charge. There was no over charging with it.

A dial or timer usually indicated a manual charger to me. If so, be very careful with new batteries as they can definitely over charge them!

What is the manufacturer and model of charger?
It may or may not be and automatic charger.
If you cannot find model or name - post a picture of it.


New batteries must be broken in properly to obtain maximum storage capacity.
