Re: 04 wont charge
Welcome to BGW forum xsnoman! You came to the right place!
I had that happen myself, but perhaps for another reason. I ended up replacing the whole receptacle. Also I found that if a battery was so bad it did not complete the circuit the charger did not work. At least that is my limited experience with them. (I'm a newbie here myself, but I'm definitely learning a lot about chargers! One more knowledgeable than myself can help you and should be along shortly.) |

Re: 04 wont charge
If the battery pack voltage is to low, the charger will not come on. I can remember what the voltage needs but I think it is around 31-32volts.

Re: 04 wont charge
The small wire coming out of the backside of the cart's charger receptacle has nothing to do with whether the batteries charge or not. It is part of a safety "feature" that prevents the cart from being driven away while charger was plugged into cart.
You didn't mention which of the dozen or so different chargers being used on '04 carts you have, but if it is one of the automatic types, the batter pack must be above about 28V for it to come one. The negative battery voltage is sensed by the Aux. Contact in the Charger plug. If the charger isn't coming on (IE: Transformer hums) A. The pack voltage isn't high enough. B. B- from the battery pack is not being sensed by the charger. C. The control board in the charger is bad. If the charger is coming on, but the batteries aren't charging, you've got one or more bad batteries. |
