I do know how to use a volt ohm meter, I checked the voltgage and I had 36 volts, I do not know what a reed switch is. Where can I find where check the voltage at the solenoid? what leads and what voltage. I know that the solenoid is not picking up, you can't hear it do anything.

Heres the reed switch bypass, just click the link. It's a simple bypass. It has NOTHING to do with the charging of your cart. It is a safety lock to keep you from taking off when your charge plug is plugged in. If the charger is plugged into the cart the cart is not supposed to run. The solenoid will not function either.

The reed switch sounds like that could be the problem, it was being charged, we disconnected the charger it ran just a short distance and quit.

I really apppreciate all the help you guys are giving.

Thanks

I bypassed the reed switch but it still wouldn't go. I removed the "black box" and it rattled like a baby rattle. That was the problem. I got a rebuilt one with a 12 month warrentee for 200.00 plus the old box.
That fixed the problem, the guy at the parts place said the best way to check the box is to just remove it and shake it, if it is fried it will rattle.

I really learned a lot from talking with you all, Thanks
I am sure that I will be talking more.
