Nede Help cart wont stop

i am working on a 1995 medalist with dcs drive put a good controller in it today and hit the gas. It went then wouldn't stop very scary then smoke was coming from controller/selinoid area. Any advise I think the new controller is toast now as now it wont move again thats two controllers its getting expensive.

You need to get a diagram and start over. Make sure you have everything hooked up properly and then cross your fingers before turning the key.

I know every hairy chested golf cart nut on here is going to bust a vein, but I would swallow my golf cart repairing pride and take it to a shop and pay the diagnostic fee to get it checked out by someone that works on carts every day. Is ok to dink around a bit and discuss bad batteries and broken wires on here, but when you have toasted two controllers already, somebody needs to be honest with you and say, hey man, it is time to call in the professionals. It is hard enough to diagnose problems when you are standing there looking at the cart, muchless when you are reading a few typed lines on a PC screen late at night.

Spend 50 bucks and get someone to look at it, them when they tell you what they think, run it by the guys on here to verify before you smoke another controller.....just my 2 cents worth.

1st what made you put a controller in it? what happened...........controllers are very hardy and its the last thing that normally goes on a cart.......i do agree though if you went thur 2 of them they are either being wired up wrong or the problem wasn,t the controller but something else effecting it..........i can,t tell you how many 30 doller jobs i have seen people turn into 400 dollar jobs.....and best advice is if your gonna work on the cart yourself the 1st 60 dollars should be the service manual.................i have 5 years of repairing carts at a campground and i,m still learing every time i touch one and i also have several hundred dollars tied up in service manuals...........i can,t tell you the time and money they have saved me not to mention not guessing at what part to replace .........the manual is the best money you,ll spend if your a do it your selfer...................................
