Question PDS Speed Sensor Question

Ok,
I just finished putting my EZGO back together. New controller, had the motor rebuilt, updated some wiring on batteries. I broke the magnet on the motor for the speed sensor so I bought a new one and replaced it but my cart is acting funny. It takes off like normal and goes about 15' then reduces speed to barely moving. If I let off the pedal then press it again it will go about another 15' and so on. I'm thinking that my speed sensor is bad but all I did was unplug it and plug it back in? It was working fine before I took the motor out. I had to pull it out of the motor with pliers but I don't see any damage to it. Is there any way to test it?

Did you lock tight the magnet onto the motor? If not check it. It has to be good and tight are it will act as you say.

No, I just placed it against the shaft and screwed it in. Should I put lock tite on the face of the magnet and glue it to the shaft?
