Yet anothe newbie, with yet another identification question
OK, so here goes.
I've read numerous posts and based on those posts, I have found the ID tag. I have manufacturing code --> F3088; serial # --> 483931. Based on what I have read, I am assuming this is a 1988 model EZ-GO....correct? The cart was working well up until about a year ago. I suspect the batteries were toast and there are out of it now. I will replace when other repairs are made and it is closer to be ready to roll. Known issues: --battery frames are in rough shape, looks like acid has leaked on them and eaten away some of the metal. Will need repairs. --there was a clunking sound before it stopped running. after pulling off some of the skin, I see a bar with a couple of u-bolts and nuts, but nothing for it to bolt to. I assume there was a support bar there at one time...no longer. That will need replaced. --wheels are shot as are the tires. --minor frame rust which will be cleaned up and repainted. I have a some money (although limited) available to fix this up for my mothers place in FL. What are your recommendations as to the best place to spend the money. new controller, new motor, lift kit, anything else .... |

Pictures would really help everyone to "see" what you're dealing with.

Re: Yet anothe newbie, with yet another identification question
Welcome to the forum l_cubed.........................
Photos would really be a good idea. There comes a time when we sometimes have to consider all thats wrong, add up the costs of repairs and the price of batteries and consider the work does not stop because of its age. For an 88 model, parts are not quite as plentiful as a newer cart. Often times, newer carts can be purchased for 12 to 18 hundred dollars that have fairly new batteries and runs great. Not trying to make a decision for you, just showing the options. We all hate to see somone dump money into a money pit. Just food for thought. |

Spend your money on a newer cart. I have an 82 ezgo and 03 CC and ezgo is a money hoggggggggggggg. Not that ezgo is bad, just thats it old and I have spent way more money on it than I can recoup.
