Install GPS in 48 V cart.
I need to install a GPS in a 48 V cart. Isn't a transformer needed between the GPS and the batteries?

Re: Install GPS in 48 V cart.
If your batteries are 6v just pull from two wired in series. A gps will not draw enough milliamps to make a difference. If your batteries are 8v, you might just as well get a reducer, or install a 12v motorcycle battery.

Most GPS units come with a 12V adapter that plugs into a lighter outlet in a car, so install a lighter type outlet in your cart and feed it 12V. |
