98 EZGo Not wanting to Go
I just put batteries in my 98 EZGo. According to the diagram they are wired correctly. I'll get a picture shortly. The meter on the dash lights up and shows full charge. The F/R makes a light clicking noise when You hit the accelerator.
Any ideas? |

All batteries show 6.20 to 6.24 volts currently.

A little more info...This is the DCS TXT. The back up beeper does come on but that is it.

Re: 98 EZGo Not wanting to Go
Listen for where you actually hear the click. Take your seat off. Put it on jack stands, then press the accelerator. The FNR shouldn't make any noise if you aren't moving it. The clicking noise should be the solenoid, which is usually mounted to the controller, and may be under the plastic cover.

Re: 98 EZGo Not wanting to Go
Alright, so I removed the seat and plastic cover. It is the solenoid that is making the clunking noise.

Re: 98 EZGo Not wanting to Go
After going through ScottyB's diagnostic test I found the solenoid to be faulty. I have ordered a new one. Thanks for all the help. LOL

Re: 98 EZGo Not wanting to Go
Solenoids can 'click' but not make any contact. You can verify this with a voltmeter.
You can also try a solenoid bypass by installing a 6-4g battery cable from one large terminal to the other one. Keep us posted. |
