Default First Electric cart and need some advice PLZ

I just purchased a 1997 txt 36v, manufacture code L2097 with a lift and bigger tires. Not much power so i tested the batteries and found one only reading 4.0v and the others were 6.32v after a full charge and all cells had the right amount of water. I am going to purchase 6 new batteries. From what i have read I guess i have a DCS system and this is not good? I am condidering upgrading my controller to a 400a. Given my set up, what do i need to upgrade this cart. I will have passengers and be in somewhat hill terrain. thank you for any help.

6.32 volts isn't horrible, however, we don't know what "after a full charge" means. Is this after it sits for half a day, or immediately after the charger turns off?

How old are the batteries? Some have replaced a single bad battery with a used one of similar performance.

You're gonna pay a lot for upgrades, so any deferred expenses may be good. On the other hand, if cash ain't a problem, go all new.

"after a full charge" is right after I unplugged the charger. could not find a date anywhere on the batteries. They are a Trojan T-605 battery. I would much rather just change one, but the cart loses power within 10minutes of riding after a full charge. I would like to upgrade to a bigger controller to handle passengers and possible hills. Thanks for the help so far, i am new to all this!

Trojan batteries have a date code stamped into the base of the Negative post. Make sure you have a solid pack before you upgrade. Upgrades allow the motor to access MORE amperage, if the pack can't deliver you will be disappointed. DCS carts are relatively inexpensive to upgrade.
Your batteries should provide 100 minutes of 'normal' run time.

What are you reading on each battery after it has sat for 12 hours after the charger has finished.
