Default 2007 EZ GO Eectric 36v TXT Series

Cart was fully charged and coming up 7th fairway and the cart just stopped. Reverse sound would come on at that point. Put volt meter to each battery and getting 6.2- 6.3 and total for the 6 was 37.8.
Now the reverse sound will come on briefly then die out.

-Can't remember if I can hear the silenoid click (don't think so)
-charger will not engage or come on anymore
-all battery cables and terminals have been replaced and cleaned

Thanks,
mark

sounds like you are getting the low voltage chime right before the carts dies.

how old are your batteries. Are you sure your charger cuts off when the batts are charged? I have seen several chargers cut of premature. Just an idea.

Pull the cover off the controller and jump out the solenoid to rule it out. Make sure tires are off the ground.

Pull the cover off the F&R switch and see if there are any wires that are burnt or broken.
Especially the little red one that comes from the charger.

Also make sure the F&R switch is in the neutral position i don't think it will charge when it is in gear.

If you jump the solenoid and it clicks and you get the charger to work again i would check the micro switch under the floor. Those go out sometimes and are only a $7 part. This is where i am putting my money because i had this happen to me and a buddy of mine this year. One cart was a 07 and one was a 08

I am not a golf cart expert this is just some of the things i would check first. If you need any help walking you through it i will pm you my number.

Cart is out at trailer and went out today and tried the charger again. No Go
-cart is still reading 37.8
-put the 12v car charger on each set of batteries and then tried charger, still no go (now reading 38.4)

There is no sticker or stamp on the batteries so my guess is the batteries are original (2007)

-no solenoid click and no reverse sound
-checked the large post on battery side and it's reading 00.4
-Pulled the cover off the F&R switch and there are no loose wires or broken ones. All connections are solid.
-Same will controller no loose wire of broken one.

I'm thinking the batteries are toast and to verify I was going to get them load tested. Not sure if I'm wasn't my time with batteries not being the real issue or am I on the right track?

If your getting 38 volts you should get a click from the solenoid. check each battery individually and make sure they are 6 and above i have had a pack read 38-39 and wouldn"t go because a battery had a dead cell so check that and see what happens.

Sorry i just read where u checked each already. if you are getting that kind of voltage the batteries should still be good. pull the cover off the female plug for the charger on the cart and make sure that red wire has a good connection because with the two things you said were wrong it makes sense that something is wrong with that wire. i dunno y i just thought about that.

I will check that wire for sure. Do you think that wire being loose or disconnect would make the cart appear dead, no Solenoid click, no reverse sound anymore and won't take a charge?

Going out to the cart tonight and going to test controller. Last time out I checked the sloiod posts and both read .04 but didn't check controller volts. Thought the NEG ran to Solenoid first them controller but its the other way around. I'm betting I have no voltage at controller.

-Just had the batteies load tested and all checking out good.

No, Marathons and early Medialists didn't, but TXTs did at first, but it was bypassed by the factory in later years.
My 2008 TXT has a solder connection or something instead of a Reed switch, but the Positive Radsok in the charger receptacle is still the source for B+ in the solenoid activation circuit.

Here is a schematic for a TXT series cart with the KSI (Key Switch and Interlock) circuit traced out in red.

Also, here is a drawing showing where to attach your DMMs black test lead. Unless otherwise indicated, all voltage measurements are referenced to that point.

After a full charge, your battery pack should read 38.2V (After 12hrs rest - higher if sooner)

The voltage at the battery side main solenoid terminal should read full pack voltage.
The voltage at the controller side main solenoid terminal should read pack voltage less 3-5V or so.
After the solenoid clicks, the controller side main terminal should also read full pack voltage.

If solenoid isn't clicking, look for B+ starting at small wire coming out of back of charger receptacle and work towards solenoid coil.

Let us know what you find.
