Remote Security Lock

Hey Guys! New to the site but have read some really helpful things already.

I have a 2002 EZ GO TXT that started as a stock cart. I've added a few things and am looking to do some upgrades under the hood soon to get a few more mph.

I decided to add a remote security lock to help deter anyone from going for a joyride or getting a five finger discounted cart. I know this is just a speed bump if someone wants to take the cart, but it make my wife feel better. Anyways, after hooking up remote lock, whenever I hit the accelerator pedal with any force the cart shuts down. I can reset the remote and all is good again. If I take off slowly there is no problem. Any ideas.

"any ideas" - get a chain and a good lock! These things are way to easy to hot wire!

But seriously... Probably need to post pics of the wiring and the typ of lock so someone can help troubleshoot. Do you have to touch the lock to reset it? Or is the reset wireless?

Good job, that sounds intriguing. I put a viper car alarm in my system which removed the key and so turns the cart on and off by remote dongle. Also the viper works off a separate 12v solenoid system to operate the 36v cart, so someone would have to be quick to hot wire the cart.

As many will chime in, there is no easy determent besides simple chains, locks, and guns. Sad to have to reason thru security.

I keep my house unlocked at all times. I figure if they want something that bad.... just take it. I'd rather replace the unit vs. the unit and windows/doors.
