New to me
This is my first post to this forum and it's about my first golf cart. We have been into RVing for a few years now and I have always wanted a golf cart. Well this weekend the owners of the camp ground that we frequent gave us one! I will be picking it up on Saturday and bringing it home. As you can imagine "free" means not running. So far I know that I need batteries, tires, leaf spring ( one of the front ones is broken) and something is wrong with the steering the wheels will turn to the right but I just hear a clicking when I turn it left. And of course as much BLING as Mama will allow!!!
I have been doing some searches for parts but I'm not sure what model it is. The plate says EZ Go A2294 SN 784449 So I am guessing it's a 94 but I keep seeing 94.5 and older or newer. Can someone tell me by the SN or PN what I need to look for? I am looking forward to the build and will post some pics when I get it home. |

Re: New to me
Serial no. indicates 1994 Marathon. Can you post a picture of the battery compartment? You will have to make a few more posts before the site will allow you to post a picture. More than likely a controller cart----which is good. Does the cart look like the the one pictured below?

Welcome, you're going to enjoy it here!
You probably have a Marathon. Do you have a single seat back or separate backs? Post some pics, we love pics! |

Re: New to me
Yep I actually found the Ezgo site with the serial number thing right after I posts this. It's definitely a marathon. I thought it was in really bad shape until I started browsing these forums and saw what others started with! I am a forum nut when I get a new project so I will probably be on here a lot in the next few months.

Check out my build below, you will see how far you can go in a short period of time. One bit of advice I might give is if your cart is in real bad shape see if you can't pic up a donor cart of same vintage. Should be able to find one for free or a couple hundred bucks. You will be amazed at all the junk carts you see now that you are looking. Ask might get free supplies. Have fun and good luck |

Man, that's a beater. Not worth anything. Probabaly have to put 6 or 7 thou into it just to make it run. Another 2 or 3 to make it look good. However, Since I'm basically a nice guy, I'll take it off your hands and free you of the burden upon which you are about to embark.
And, uh, welcome. You'll enjoy it. |
