Voltage reducer suggestions?
Anyone have any suggestions for what type of voltage reducer to buy? I have a 2006 ezgo PDS 36 volt. I have been looking at eBay and they start around $10.00 and go up from there. I will be running lights, horn, and a 20 watt stereo. I don't want to go too cheap and I want to leave some room for growth if I add some more wattage to the stereo or something. But, I dont want to spend extra if I don't really need to. I am going to run the power to an automotive type fuse block. If anyone got a good deal on a quality reducer I would appreciate some advice. Thanks.

Re: Voltage reducer suggestions?
i would buy a decent 12 volt deep cycle marine battery and hook accessories just to that and charge it with a 12 volt charger. Just a thought.

Their are a few on ebay that are ok to use. Mine cost me I believe 60 bucks on Ebay. I personally wouldn't go with another battery...Just more weight and something else you will have to charge and another battery to replace.

Does anyone have experience with any of the vendors on ebay? Who would you recommend? Maybe 25-30 amps to give me some room for growth?

Re: Voltage reducer suggestions?
Although you could run your accessories by using 2 of your 6 volt batteries, you could end up with battery balance problems. I recommend using a reducer. Make sure that you purchase a reducer that is good for 36V to 48V... never know when you may want to do a 48V conversion or purchase a 48V cart. Some of the cheaper voltage reducers are 18V and 24V so that you could hook them up to 3 or 4 of your batteries but you could still end up with balance issues. It is always best to utilize the entire pack. Below is what we offer:
If you think you will only power the items listed, this one will be fine: http://www.jasonsgolfcarts.com/36V_4.../volt-0003.htm If you think you may add more this may be the answer: http://www.jasonsgolfcarts.com/36V_4.../volt-0002.htm |

Re: Voltage reducer suggestions?
There is a lot of crap on ebay, and many folks have been dissatisfied with the quality on some items. If you know exactly what you are buying (ie: Simpson Regulator Model # 456) then go ahead and "shop price" on the bay, otherwise I recommend a site sponsor for cart parts and accesories.
