Default Charger just clicks

Here is the charger:

When I plug the charger in to the cart, all I get is this: (click on image for video)

I have used this charger to charge the cart since we got it and the last time was a couple of months ago and it worked just fine. Same electrical outlet and everything.

What is the pack voltage before trying to charge the cart?

I will put a real guage on it today when I get home. I have a simple guage on it and it shows in the green when i turn the key on and right on the line between the green and red when i press on the pedal. It is still a resistor cart also.

If the sound heard on the video is the relay in the charger clicking, the problem is on the AC side.

The most likely suspects are:
Plugged into a dead AC outlet.
Blown AC fuse inside charger
Bad AC power cord.

I'd check the AC wall outlet first and then take the cover off and check the fuse inside the charger.

*****Be careful when the cover is off, the big capacitor will bite you hard even when the charger is unplugged.*****

Here's the manual.

The sound that you hear is coming from the charger. I have a friend that works with electronics and i will ask him to come look at it. Thanks for the manual. That will be a big help.

There are other possible problems, but with the relay click and the transformer not humming, we're not getting AC though the primary of the transformer.

Could be an open primary winding in transformer or bad contacts in relay, but those are less likely than the one I mentioned.

BTW: That is a good charger. It is built like a tank and 100% repairable.

Give a yell if your friend has to dig deeper.

Will do. Thanks for the advice so far. Once he digs into it, I will let everyone know what the issue was.

I finally got some time to spend on the cart today with the correct tools. Voltage across the entire pack is 25V. Individually they are as below.

Passenger Side

4v
3v 3v

4v 5v
6v

Drivers Side

I have not taken the charger apart yet. Very respectful of electricity and not an expert.

If you have a 6v or 12v charger, start charging the batteries individually or in pairs. At pack voltage of 25v, it is too low to start the TCIII.

Bring a few batteries up in voltage and then try plugging the TCIII in again.

Ok. I have a charger that can do that with. When I do that, do i need to disconnect them from the rest of the pack?
