PRO's and CON's 36v vs. 48V

I know this is probably a dumb question but......wanted to throw it out there to get some different opinions for everyone. Once again i have been trying to do my research and looking for my first cart.

If you upgrade a 36v cart to 48v it will have higher speed and torque if you keep the original 36v motor. From the factory i.e. EZGO vs. Club Car there is little difference in performance between 36 and 48v. They match the voltage to the rest of the system and the results from each are similar.

As it was explained to me....Both 36 and 48v carts run about the same stock speeds, The 48v system produces some longer run time.

You will pay more for a 48v cart. Whether or not this is worth it to you depends upon what you are going to be doing with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there appears to be more performance options and capabilities for 36v carts.

Converting to 48 volts (correctly) requires additional costs...

You need to upgrade the controller.
You need to upgrade the solenoid.
2 additional batteries.
Way to charge those batteries - either 48v charger or 12 volt charger.
Eventually - a new motor.

Pros.
Considerably faster
Considerably more torque
Slightly longer run times
WAY MORE FUN.

Cons.
Can be expensive.
