Default Finally found another project

Picked it up this morning. 1994 Medalist. I bought it just looking at pictures and then drove 2 hours one way to get it. I think I have lost my mind. Anyway, here she is with big plans ahead. Got it stripped down and pressure washed today. Everything looks good except the battery tray. Other than that no rust anywhere. I'm going to put a txt body back on it when the time comes. The obvious things that I will have to replace are brakes, brake cables, batteries, battery tray, heat sink on the controller (broken off), and the steering box housing is worn out and busted. Other than that she's a cream puff

Time to order some parts!

Here's a question for you battery guys. The batteries were completely dead when I picked it up. I charged them two at a time until the cart charger took over. I left them charging on it for about 5 or 6 hours and it was still on about 12 amps and the batteries were gassing like crazy. I wanted to go ahead and strip it so I stopped the charger and pulled the batteries. Are the batteries toast? I've never had one sit at 12 amps for so long with the batteries gassing like that.

Do you have a load tester? If so give that a test on each battery and see what it says. What year are the batteries?

Batteries are 2007 and I don't have a load tester.

Nice start on what I'm sure will be a fun project.
When I replaced the battery tray, I went with the aluminum version. It was the least expensive.

I'm thinking that's what I will do too. Those bolts were a nightmare to get out. Had to get the torch involved.
