Your going to get a lot of different answers depending on who decides to respond. You would be better off doing a search in these forums and deciding for yourself. There are lots and lots of threads about batteries.

Basically it goes like this (from info I have read on the forums) THE HEAVIER THE BETTER. Yep, the weight of the battery tells you more than anything else.

Here is a little list I put together.

The Trojan T-105 is the historical yardstick for 6V cart batteries.

The best battery for you depends on many factors. IE: Your needs -vs- your budget -vs- what is available in your area.

Basically, you'll most likely want the heaviest battery you can afford that is available in your geographical location.

Since this is a rather large investment, I'd expand your search area to include nearby cities. May be worth it to drive an hour or so to save money.

You had me going for a moment when I saw Charleston, than I realized it was Charleston, SC.

You may, or may not, get the best price from a golf cart dealer.
I started my search at the battery manufacture websites and checked for the closest dealers and distributors for that specific brand.

Many tire stores and auto repair shops sell batteries, and some will special order specific model numbers for you.

Personally, I found that I can get the heaviest Battery that US Battery makes (US-145) under the guise of an Interstate 2400 at the local auto repair shop I've been using for years, for less than I can get T-105s from a distributor 50 miles away.

I can be in MB in a hour and a half or so.

I'll factor in cost of fuel with savings cost of batteries and go from there. I hate to not buy from my closest place to me as he will be my service, parts supplier as well. Need to keep a good relationship with him.
