Dual Filament tail lights

I recently bought a 2003 36v Ezgo TXT. Overall, I feel it is in good shape...after all it is 5 yrs old. When I bought it, the headlights and tail lights were already installed. After replacing the broken headlight and reading some threads on here, I thought, Gee, brake lights would be good idea. The tail lights have a dual filament bulb and each tail light has 3 wires; black, white and red. Currently, the white wire on each side is an extra wire that just kinda hangs there.

What direction should I go in order to make this happen?

The 3rd wire is for the brake light............

1st wire = B- or ground
2nd wire = tail lights, the dimmer of the two filaments
3rd wire = Stop Lights, the brighter of the two filaments

Naw........ I don't know which color is which.

You can do brake lights on that cart for about $15. I am looking for a thread for you.

It was very easy to fab up the bracket, and it's adjustable too! I have the switch set to activate when the brake pedal moves down about 3/4", just as the slack is taken out of the brake cables. No wiring yet, that's a separate project.

There's shrink wrap under the conduit.
This should last a good long time:

Needed some way to support the conduit to the chassis. Came up with this solution while I was........that's not important.

The switch is a waterproof Brake Light switch from a 1949 Chevy Pickup truck. It is available online as well as @ NAPA, etc. The circuit is VERY simple to implement.

Thanks for the help. I wasn't able to get the brake lights to work right when the lights were on; they weren't getting BRIGHT. Turns out whoever installed the light kit miswired the tail lights. After fixing that, I went ahead and finished wiring that I would need. Brake light switch is next and last.

WELCOME to the Board,
Most brake light housing's don't have a ground on them. The better light kit's do. Take the lens cover off and see if there is a ground to the metal part of the housing. If not then you will have to run one as I do to most everyone I've seen. Even if they do have the extra wire already some people don't run them right. As you found out.
