Default need help/ have a 97 ezgo that has a 36 volt solonoid..

is there any chance that this buggy is 48 volts with a 36 volt solonoid..?
It has switch for f/r by right knee..has a tow/run maintenance switch (regen) im guessin and a DCS 9 pin and what looks like a SX speed controller...??
A few diagnostic sheets i've seen show 6 batteries in specs...This buggy had no batteries when i bought it..If I throw 48 volts into it and it just needs 36 how bad can I screw things up in controller....HalKinda pressed for time if you have any info i'd like to hear about it..

More than likely it is 36v if it has a 36v solenoid. It takes some extra work and bypassing with 8 6v batteries (instead of 6) to make a 48v run on a 36v solenoid. Does your controller say how many volts it is for? most are labeled somewhere.

so basically your saying that the six batteries in that schematic i saw were 6 volts each as apposed to 8 volt....As for controller i never got down for a close inspection but there doesnt appear to be any outstanding label i can see...

I am almost positive you could not get a 48v from the factory back in 97. The only way that golf cart would be 48v is if someone converted it in the past which doesn't make any sense with a 36v solenoid. The sticker for the controller may be on the lower part of where it mounted. You may need a mirror or remove it to see.
