Default Radio installation help

Want to install a DIN size radio on my cart. Is there a installation kit available for the head unit like you would use in a car/truck or how do you mount it securely in the slot in the dash that I assume is for a radio. Thanks.

I didn't use a kit, I just trimmed the tab on the top of the ball holder cavity so that the head unit would wedge in against it. That snug fit is all that holds mine in and I have never needed more. I pinched a fine hacksaw blade between my fingers to do the trimming. The plastic is soft and cuts easily. If you need to "fine tune" the hole, use a wood rasp as required.

I agree with kab69440, Take your time cutting out the ball holder and test fit your radio mount being sure you do not remove to much material. It will fit snug and the tabs will hold it securely in place. I took some photos when I did mine hope they help you. The 3rd photo you can see that some off the bottom lip has to be removed as well.

Sweet pics! If a radio install thread ever gets stickied here, your pics need to be in it! Great work!

Nice work. Where are your speakers?

I used the injection moulded pods that install underneath the dash. We have a site sponsor that carries them. I HIGHLY recommend a pair! I have cheap factory speakers from a beater I sent to the junkyard years ago. Those 6" speakers mounted in the pods sound incredible! Click on "Sponsors" at the top of the page and then the link to "custom speaker pods". They weren't cheap but they are SO worth the cost! Thanks for the kind words, by the way! Kenny
