Default Which Controller...97 TXT Series

I have a 97 EzGo TXT Series cart and am needing a controller for it. My original melted and Ive used the search function till I cant find anymore threads to read. I have figured out that I am needing either an Alltrax NPX or AXE controller and looking at least at 400 Amps. My set up is a 4 inch lift with 22x8 tires with medium use mostly off road. I am looking for the least amount of work possible, can anyone recommend a controller that is plug in and drive.....Please Thanks Justin

This controller is fairly cheap and very good! I have it in my cart which is a 1996 txt series cart. My cart is also lifted pretty high with mud tires! Here is the link for it! http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/product.asp?sku=485

The npx4844/5k-0. Is for a club car... I don't know what the npx4844/0-5k is for tho! And the npx4844its is for an ezgo cart.

I prefer to use site sponsors, rather than that "other" forum.

The various options listed above are for different types of throttle inputs. If you buy the wrong one, it won't work.

I bought all of my parts here:

http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html

and my motor from here:

http://www.eastcoastcarts.com

If you melted your old controller and upgrade to 400 amps, you'll soon be melting other things like solenoid, FNR, and cables.

The BU is an unpopular option here, they do not support this forum that is why the site sponsors are here. Like Yurtle mentioned check with the sponsors he has listed jkg and you will get the help you need. Just fyi if you cart is an its setup.

I have an Alltrax 4855 in my cart. Be sure whichever one you choose make sure the throttle is for ITS, not 0-5k.

The cart in your avatar has a rear seat and 22" tires. The taller tires increase the final gear ratio. This increases the load on the motor while reducing torque. The rear seat adds weight and allows for double the passengers = 2Xs the load.
The NPX you are viewing is a stock replacement for playing golf. A very good option for the greens but ... Alltrax states on their website, NPX not recommended for lifted or rear seat carts.
We have a special programed NPX 400 amp control from Alltrax which is recommended for light off road use. It's components and output match the AXE4844 without the expense of the program hardware. These controls are non programmable so they must be set up at the Factory.
Your next best choice would be the AXE4855 or 500 amp. We sell this control and a HD 200 amp solenoid package. As somebody else already said you will need to upgrade your cables to 4g or 2g and upgrade or replace the F&R with HD components. All the amperage from the batteries to the motor is going through the F&R.
P.S.
Everything I just mentioned is plug and play
