Thumbs up Newbie needs assistance

Hell-o from Texas. Newbie here needing some assistance. I just purchased my first cart. An Elect 87 EZ Go for the grand kids to play around on. My first day reading and I found some things to help me out, like wiring. Can anyone help me on this......I am not much into lift kits but would like to raise it some from stock. Can I purchase some larger wheels and tires to get me a couple of inches or so? If so, where can they be found and what size and about how much should I expect to pay? Any and all help will be appreciated.

Welcome to BGW chief!

I "think" you may be able to fit some 20" tires under it without a lift but don't quote me on that. Most people go with 22's and at least a 4 inch lift.

Thanks for the info Roady89....Where is the best place to buy 20" tires and will they fit my stock wheels or do I need tires and wheels?

Well....I see your in Texas. I think Northern Tool carries a few different 20" tires. I do not belive you will need rims with a 20" tire but I would like one of the other guys to confirm this. If you were wanting a larger set of tires and wheels with a lift I would suggest contacting one of our site sponsors. I don't think any of them carry the 20's but you could always call. They will be more than happy to help.

something like a 20-7-8 or a 20-10-8, any bigger and you will need a lift kit.

Centered 8" wheels may still rub suspension with 20's. Especially at full lock on the fronts. Rears will probably rub suspension too.

FYI: Marathon with 4" block lift on stock wheels w/ 20-10-8 tires rubs at locks on front and in back under suspension load. 2" spacers corrected all corners.

All things considered, you shouldn't have any problems with an offset wheel (or spacers) and 20's on stock suspension but it will depend on how tall the tire is.

HTH.

Anytime you want bigger wheels get off set ones just for reassurance. It's cheaper in the long run. Plus you have a extra set of wheels & tires for unexpected problems.
