Default How compatible would a DCS cart be with a newer Series cart?

I'm looking at possibly coming across a late 90s DCS cart that has seen much better days. I have a ton of parts left over from my 2004 Series cart when I completely rebuilt it. I would be installing all the electronics from my series cart (motor, controller, solenoid, F/R switch, wiring, etc), body and possibly some suspension parts. What should I expect to not be compatible between the late 90s DCS and the 2004 Series cart?

Pretty much most of your parts should work. The steering system is different, other than that alot of it is common.

Non of the drive system components are inter-changeable.

DCS is a Separately Excited motor system (sepex)

My cart started out as a DCS cart. I burned it up and switched to series and its been great ever since. If you're changing everything series into this cart you won't have any problems at all. But like Scottyb said, nothing electrical is interchangeable.

I figured none of the drive components were interchangeable but that wasn't a problem because the DCS is missing some of them. And the thought crossed my mind about updating the steering when I have it down to the bare frame. I was mainly worried about the F/R lever mounting and the bodies being compatible. My 2004 body is in much better shape but I figured with my luck, there would be just enough of a difference for it not to work.

Did you stick with the pre-2001.5 steering?

Is the motor interchangeable? As in, would a 2001 TXT series motor work in an Marathon 1991?
