I have two brain boxes, one has three hook ups and the other has four, could some one please tell me the difference.

These boxes are off a 1997 EZGO, For got to mention that to start with.
I think you call them speed boxes or what ever. Need help.

Your are refering to "speed controllers". The 3 terminal lacks the A2 connection. The A2 is not absolutely needed. It can be wired around easily...other than that they are basically the same the same if they are series controllers.

the one with 4 lugs is OEM i beleive the 3 lug is aftermarket.......as posted if you use the 3 lug you take the cables that were bolted to the A+ lug bolt them togather tape them good and secure them somewhere.....................

Not always the case. I just pulled a stock controller that has no A2 connection. Not sure why they aren't all the same.
